NEW IMAGES SHOW HOW THE FUTURE HONDA CB1100X COULD LOOK!
The theory behind the Honda CB1100X is that it’s an upright sporty touring bike, with the CRF1100L engine at its heart.
NEW images have come to light showing how the Honda CB1100X sports touring bike could look. It follows on from the launch last night of the Honda CMX1100 Rebel, using the same CRF1100L engine at its heart.
The images you can see are have originated from the Japanese website AutoBy, the very same website that accurately predicted how the just-launched CMX1100 Rebel would look. While the rumors
about a potential CB1100X are as yet unconfirmed by anyone within the factory, just the fact that AutoBy is publishing these images makes the possibility of the bike arriving very real indeed.
The premise of the bike is a familiar concept; take the Africa Twin-derived 1,084cc engine with the DCT option. Give the unit a specific tune, as per the 1100 Rebel, and slot it into an all-new chassis. For me, this is probably one of the more exciting new bikes that Honda could build. It’s a proper upright sports-touring machine, something that could genuinely take on bikes like the recently updated Tracer 9 and the BMW F900XR.
Honda CB1100X rendering The Styling of the Honda CB1100X
The styling of the bike may look all-new compared to the rest of the Honda range, although it does seem to take its cues from a recently revealed concept machine. The CB4X was revealed at EICMA in 2019 and was designed by Big Red’s Italian design house. It didn’t though feature the same engine that Young Machine is proposing will be used, and for me, that makes sense. The parallel-twin from the Africa Twin and Rebel 1100 is a supremely versatile unit, and most importantly (for Honda), it’s able to incorporate that all-important DCT system that is the crowning glory of the firm’s technical innovations.
